Welcome to my website, TrekkerDiary.com. Please forgive me for this site is still early and developing. The purpose for this site is to share my experiences of my travels and how it has evolved during the years. From this, I hope you can benefit from my experiences like hacks and ways to go around problems you might faces. And I would also like to hear from your experiences like places to eat, off the beaten path, etc.

My very first travel outside of my home (Southern California) was when I organized a trip to Sequoia National Park in California with my college friends. Seeing those giant trees let me in awe and spark my interest in traveling the world. For a year, I travel by myself and sometime with friends within the US and that was really simple, but I want to see more.

But going out of the United States was something I think would be a fun because it feels a bit uncomfortable and exciting at the same time. In the beginning, I was a bit intimidated to venture out on my own when traveling outside the US, so I used travels agents and join groups like Contiki and Apple Travel. I don’t think that they are bad travel guides company, but I feels like I’m being drag around, a quarter of the time I was taken to places that I don’t really want and was put on a time limit all the time when we get to a location. I done this for 2 years until I got fed up with it and decided to travel on my own. Well, not really on my own, but got my girlfriend, her sister, and two of my best friends accompany me on a two-week trips to New Zealand and a week in Australia. From then on, I felt free and eager to explore my world.

For the next 9 years of working had to work hard to pay for my addiction of travelling to almost every part of the world; little did I known that my life would soon change. The biggest change in my like was when my daughter was born. For over 2 years, I did not travel, and I felt trap like a goldfish in a small fish tank. The reason is that my families think it is a bad ideal to take a small baby anywhere because the food and water anywhere will make her sick (darn those over protected family members). After doing some research, I see that many parents do take kids with them on their travel. So, when daughter turned 3, we took her to Mexico. And after that, she has been camping all over the places and travel with me everywhere I go. Then seven years later she got a baby brother.

Having additional bodies to travel with does has it challenges financially. But we were able to over come it but finding deals, think a head, travel with friends and families. Now instead of travel solo or with my wife, we added kids, friends, families and their children to the equation.

From this website, I would like to share with you everything from budgeting, choosing the destinations, the planning process and to the actual trip itself. This is my stories, my journeys, which I would like to share with you. And in return, I would like to hear from you. I would be grateful to hear from your trips, tips, treks, and hacks.
